TRANSFORMABLE POD
The Covid-19 Pop-Up Pod demonstrates an architectural application informed by the catalog of transformational designs and fabrication strategies within the context of the pandemic. The pod operates as a popup mobile working unit which provides a physical barrier for social distancing and protection in open spaces. It does so by changing the degree of enclosure around the user through folded actuation. It appropriates integrated material flexure as a fabrication strategy to accommodate flexure along fold creases. Importantly the transformation component of the design provides ease of transportation for deployment and use in a variety of spaces and situations.
